Diaper rash is one of the most common skin conditions for babies. Almost 75% of moms¹ report that their baby gets a diaper rash at least once every six months. And over half of those babies get at least one diaper rash every month. So if you suspect your baby has a diaper rash, don't worry. You are not alone! Fortunately, BALMEX® can help treat your baby's diaper rash and help keep it from recurring.
Diaper rash can appear on your baby's skin as mild redness or reddish bumps. The skin may also appear slightly puffy. In some cases diaper rash can also appear as raised, red patches. Watch your baby for signs of a diaper rash. If your baby seems more uncomfortable than usual or extra fussy when their diaper area is touched in the bath or at changing time, it could mean that a diaper rash is developing.
Most diaper rashes are easily and readily treatable with non-prescription diaper rash treatments like BALMEX®. If you believe your baby has a diaper rash, refer to the diaper rash Correction section for advice on how treat the rash. Afterward, make sure to reference the Protection section for advice on how to prevent a rash from occurring.
If your baby's skin has blisters, open sores, is severely red, or does not respond to diaper rash treatments after 7 days, call your pediatrician. A prescription medication may be required.
